The Pérez Art Museum (PAMM) is a modern and contemporary museum devoted to collecting and displaying international art from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries with exhibits that emphasize the areas diverse community and key geographic location at the America’s crossroads. The PAMM is generally open from 11am to 6pm Friday through Monday and on Thursdays they don’t close until 9pm, just don’t go on Tuesday or Wednesday because they will be closed.

The Bass Museum of Art was established in 1964 after John and Johanna Bass donated a private collection to the city. The Bass is open from noon to 5pm Wednesday through Sunday and focuses on international contemporary art exhibitions presenting mid-career and established creators who embody the spirit and international culture of the city.

The Frost Art Museum gives the public unrestricted access to world-class works from all cultures and time periods from 11am to 5pm daily except for Monday when they are closed. The permanent collection of The Frost contains about 6,000 artifacts including a strong representation of American prints from the 1960’s and 1970’s, photography, and pre-Columbian objects dating from 200-500 AD.

The Museum of Contemporary Art grew out of the original Center of Contemporary Art which opened in 1981 with a single gallery space. MOCA is home to nearly 400 pieces by local, national, and worldwide contemporary artists like Pablo Cano, Teresita Fernandez, Keith Haring, Alex Katz, Edward Ruscha, and George Segal. The Museum erected a new building in 1996 designed by Charles Gwathmey of GSNY but like some others on this list they are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

The World Erotic Art Museum is located in the city’s Art Deco zone and has a collection that ranges from modern works to ancient relics from Picasso to Pompeii. WEAM is home to the largest private erotica collection in the United States with over 20 rooms and 12,000 square feet which you can check out from 11am to 6pm daily.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a national historic landmark that protects its cultural and natural resources. Vizcaya was built between 1914 and 1922 as the holiday house of farming industrialist James Deering and is one of the most complete specimens of this era in American history.
