Since the 1960’s Museum Für Moderne Kunst has collected more than 5,000 unique works of art. Kids under the age of 18 are always free to enter, and on the last Saturday of each month everyone gets in free. Visit Für Moderne Kunst from 11am to 6pm most days but be warned that they are closed on Monday and stay open until 7pm on Wednesday.

Frankfurt’s Städel Museum is open from 10am to 6pm most days but they are closed on Monday and stay open until 9pm on Thursday and it was originally founded in the early 1800’s making many believe that it is the oldest museum foundation in Germany. Their collection includes over 3,000 paintings, 600 sculptures, 5,000 photos, and 100,000 drawings and prints that range from the early 14th Century to today. Pieces by Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Jan Van Eyck, Rembrandt van Rijn and many more have works on display. Every second Thursday of the month they put on a popular art talk event near you, they host many workshops, and kids under 12 always get in free.

Museum Angewandte has a similar set up to Museum Für Moderne Kunst because children under 18 always get in free and no one has to pay on the last Saturday of the month. You can also try out their monthly workshops for all ages but like many of the best museums in your area don’t go on Monday because they will be closed.

There are over 3,000 sculptures ranging from Ancient Egypt to Neoclassicism on display at Liebieghaus Skulpturen who is one of the world’s leading sculpture museums. Don’t go on Monday because the doors remain closed but they open at 10am Thursday through Sunday and at noon on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Of the 10,000 works in the collection at Caricatura Museum you will find some by FW Bernstein, Chlodwig Poth, Robert Gernhardt, and Hans Traxler. Kids up to age 18 get in free when they are open from 11am to 6pm Wednesday through Sunday.

Nearly a thousand international artists created the around 10,000 works you will see at Dz Bank Kunstsammlung which is open from 11am to 7pm Tuesday through Saturday. Their specialty is contemporary photographic art but you will also get to see plenty of cool paintings, sculptures, and graphics.

Bernhard Knaus Fine Art has works for rent plus they offer local art consulting and advisory services while keeping regular hours of 1pm to 6pm Tuesday through Friday and from 11am to 3pm on Saturday.
